Dental IMEs and Reviews

United Review Services' nationwide network of practicing, board certified dentists is utilized to conduct independent dental exams and reviews. Our clinical examinations and reviews address casualty, necessity of treatment, and appropriateness of fees. Dental exams and reviews help in both casualty and health claims by assuring that billed services are related to the accident and are necessary and payable under the policy.

• Each referral is handled from start to finish by an assigned IME Scheduler, who is available to answer questions.
• All reports are reviewed by an R.N. in order to assure a complete, thorough report.
• When appropriate, the consulting dentist can discuss the case with the treating dentist to resolve issues in the treatment.

All examinations and reviews are scheduled quickly and completed in a timely manner. Included in the service are all scheduling and rescheduling, notifications, correspondence, report expediting, and report review. URS can also assist in obtaining x-rays if needed.

Most dental subspecialties are included in the network, so that exams and reviews can be done in the same specialty as the treating provider. Frequently, referrals are made for evaluation of TMJ disorders and other specialized areas. Criteria for dentist selection include board certification in the specialty area, active dental practice, active license, experience in performing dental examinations and reviews and willingness to testify.

Reports are available electronically, by fax and by mail. United Review Services completes dental examinations within 4 weeks from referral, and dental reviews within 10 days.
